Studies have shown that only 51% of higher education teaching-preparation programs include the science of reading. Learning to read is incredibly complex, and teaching reading requires a deep understanding of the processes and science behind it. When educators do not have the knowledge and skills to teach reading to all students, a number of students lag behind and struggle.
LETRS for Administrators helps you support your educators as they engage in LETRS professional learning and acquire deep knowledge and skills so they can improve literacy instruction and engage all students in their literacy learning.
LETRS for Administrators empowers literacy leaders to create the systems and structures needed to improve schoolwide and districtwide literacy instruction. It includes a printed book, A Principal's Primer for Raising Reading Achievement, to support leaders in their LETRS journey.
A Principal's Primer for Raising Reading Achievement is a "how-to" manual for principals who want to improve the overall reading performance of an elementary or middle school It explains in practical terms how a principal can lead a schoolwide implementation of research-based, multi-tiered reading instruction.
Educational leaders often are not equipped with the resources and tools needed to effectively be the change agents for a systemic shift impactful to the improvement of instructional delivery and student achievement.
LETRS for Administrators supports those leaders with the necessary tools and resources to enact change of practice across the school or district. Leaders need to be informed about what their educators are learning so they can support them.
LETRS for Administrators is offered in flexible implementation models to meet the specific needs of your educational leaders.
